9/6/2020 Update:

Yesterday we added solar powered lanterns to the girls playhouse! I am so obsessed with how they turned out. They are the perfect size! Peter installed the lanterns in two steps, all the parts came with the lanterns!

1. Screw the base into the side.

2. Place the light on the base…

Yes, it was that easy. They came out so cute!!

Happy September babes!! I’ll link the lanterns below!! They are from amazon and are super affordable!

Playhouse Makeover!

Happy Monday Babes!!

I am SOOOOO EXCITED about this one! I have been eyeballing this project for a while and gathering as much Pinterest details as possible! We found this playhouse but it wasn’t the colors that I wanted them to be so I did this super inexpensive makeover!!! You can find these playhouses on Facebook Marketplace or Ebay!! Last time I checked there were a couple on amazon, but those were definitely full price. You can also check Khols. There are also all different kinds of playhouses like these that you can makeover as well!!

There was much concentration hahah!!

First thing you need to do is separate the pieces and pick your colors. I knew I wanted a black roof so we picked up some black spray paint! Here is everything we used!!

The Blush pink pain and the black paint I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The spray paint I purchased at Home Depot. We used one can of the black and two white.

pro tip: wait till its cooler outside… I melted. It might actually be better for the paint as well if it is not as humid. Oofta 😂

For us it was easier to start with the biggest surface areas first. Once we got them coated with color, we set them aside to dry. What was neat about the spray paint is that it does dry pretty quickly.

A tip with this paint is lots of layers. It won’t look fully covered until the 3rd coat. let it dry completely between each coat.

Whenever I start paint projects I always test the color on the surface to make sure I like it. Then paint away!! I would suggest in retrospect not painting in the heat and humidity. It make the paint dry a little weird, once I moved it inside It was better!

Next, I knew I wanted a black mailbox so I got a skinny flat paint brush for cleaner lines!! I bought some Patio Outdoor paint from Hobby Lobby. The color is wrought iron!

It comes with a door bell that you add to the round hole, I painted that the same black as the mailbox and the button the same blush pink at the door!

One cool thing I did was I spray painted the sink/grill white and then I edged it with the blush pink. It gave the grate a nice pop.

After all of those things dried overnight Peter assembled them in the morning!!

We actually kept the inside of the playhouse gray (the original color) because I thought with all the playing and foot traffic it would get dirty anyways! I actually grew to like it better like that!

**There was a bit of unevenness in the grass so we used bricks and soil to make it even. If you would like to see more on how Peter did this leave a comment below!!
